Sample Uses of Beyond Question: Corporate Training

Subject:

Information Systems

Method:

Prior to starting a new session, present two or three questions to determine if the students completed a reading assignment. Based on the feedback, you will know if they are prepared for the session, allowing you to move through the subject at a normal pace. After 10-15 minutes, ask a couple of mid-session review questions about the material just covered. Based on the results, you can modify the pace of the class if necessary. At the end of the session, ask three to five review questions to make sure they understand the main points of the material and understand their next assignment.

Benefit:

The instructor gets an easy way to verify that the students are prepared for class. Students do their homework and remain alert and focused because they know questions will be asked. The immediate review of the questions allows the instructor to correct any misunderstandings.
